Cicada Radio - No Fate But What We Make

Well, considering we’ve all only got a few weeks left to live (that damn Mayan apocalypse just sneaks up on ya doesn’t it?) - Cicada Radio squeeze in a new CD for you to rock out to the end of the world – aptly titled No Fate But What We Make.   It includes 8 songs of gloriously cacophonous guitar rock (did I really just use that word? 700 verbal on my SATs!) - the perfect soundtrack to watch the world crumble around you, and just in time for the holidays too!  It features the single “Oceans” which is burning up the interwebs with it’s fantastic video.  Order your copy right here, right now, and get an instant download of the whole record!  That’s 6 days before the rest of the world gets to hear it (because you’re so special to me, each and every one of you).

If you’re in the New Brunswick area, or if you aren’t and have access to a car or know how to hotwire a neighbor’s, head on out to the Court Tavern this Saturday and celebrate this release with us, Cicada Radio, and a bunch more.  And check out the video for “Oceans” below.

Hurricane Sandy Relief

Hey folks, so the last few days have been pretty rough for a lot of people.  Hurricane Sandy has really done a number on our home state of New Jersey, as well as much of the surrounding states.  We were very fortunate to only be inconvenienced with not having any power for a few days, but now that we’re up and running again (though our main headquarters is still in the dark), we’d like to do something to help out those who didn’t fair quite as well.  The devastation on the Jersey shore alone is almost too much to bear.  So, here’s what we’d like to do – we’ve got a whole a bunch of stuff sitting around warehoused and not doing anything, so make your way to our special Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund page, make a donation, and get some cool stuff.  If you don’t really want anything, that’s fine too, just get a sticker  - the important thing is that you help out if you can.  100% of the proceeds will be going to assist those who need it due to the storm.

Also, The Everymen have set up their own relief fund – they’re making special “New Jersey Hardcore” T-Shirts, again with 100% of the proceeds going to Hurricane Sandy victims.  You can order those right here.

Secret Country - 7 Days a Week

Hey guess what? You lost the mega millions, but you won the Killing Horse Lottery, cause Secret Country has a 7″ coming out in just two short weeks and you get to hear it! Sounds pretty awesome as far as I’m concerned. Anyways, the record is called 7 Days A Week and it’s about drinking seven days a week. Weird right? And don’t sleep on the b-side – Deep-Fried Delight – a song about fried chicken, a buxom lady, and sweet, greasy love. The record is up for presale now in the Killing Horse Store and comes out officially on May 22nd. For all of you impatient bastards, Secret Country will be performing at the Donegal Saloon in Kearny, NJ on Friday, May 18th to celebrate its release with Old Wives and Thomas Wesley Stern and will be selling the record there (so you can be one of cool guys that gets the record 4 days before the rest of the world!) Show details are over on the sidebar over there – or just go check out the event page. Can’t make the show, but want something special? That’s cool too, we’ve got you covered. Head over to the Killing Horse Store and check out the sweet combo deal we got going on! You get the new Secret Country 7″, a KHR T-Shirt, and a sweet glossy Release Show Poster! The best part? The whole thing only costs $10! Yep, just cause we love you.

Southcoast Boutique is having a firesale? No.  But Killing Horse Records sure is.  That’s right – evacuate the schoolchildren and make your way in a single-file line to the Killing Horse Records Store where you’ll find prices burned away to almost nothing!  We’re clearing stock in our warehouse to make room for some new releases – so give us a hand, and buy some stuff from us.  I promise it’s awesome.

Oh – and speaking of new releases – Secret Country will have their 7″, Seven Days a Week b/w Deep-Fried Delight out on May 18th, and Cicada Radio will be releasing an EP in June.  Stay tuned for more!
