KHR 3-Year

Happy New Year folks!  So according to very complicated mathematical computations that I just did with my fingers, turns out we’ve been around for THREE YEARS.  Yeah, I don’t understand how we’ve lasted this long either.  Probably has something to do with high pain thresholds and masochistic tendencies – but that’s not really important.  What is important is that we’ve made yet it another year and we feel like celebrating.  We want you to come celebrate with us, so we put a party together and YOU’RE INVITED.  Hooray!  It takes place this Saturday, January 12th at Maxwell’s in Hoboken.  This years celebration features our 6 active artists, TV Sound, Cold Fur, Cicada Radio, Life Eaters, The Everymen, Secret Country.

Speaking of Secret Country, they have their own reasons to celebrate – they are debuting their 2nd full-length album, From The Barroom To The Bedroom, so Saturday mean double party time for everyone!  Fantastic!  Doors are at 7:30PM, cover is $10.  Come out early, and plan on staying late – which means pace yourself at the bar.  It’s a long night, so stay away from shots until at least Life Eaters.  Trust me, it’ll work out for the best.

Alright, that’s all for now – hope to see you on Saturday.  More details on the show here.  If you can’t wait until Saturday, or can’t make it, From The Barroom To The Bedroom is on sale in the Killing Horse Store, and ordering it today will land you an instant download of the whole album.  So maybe go do that.

Release Updates! Huzzah!

Cold Fur Recording at The Irish

I know, I know, I’ve been lazy on the posts lately, but only because I’ve been so damn busy being awesome! (I do it for you though, honest).  Over the last week and a half I’ve been working with Killing Horse’s Cicada Radio and Cold Fur in the studio for some sweet new music for your lovely and wanting ears.  Cicada Radio is finishing up one hell of an EP and Cold Fur is working on their KHR debut – a 7inch record that due to sheer power may put an end to the 7inch format, because frankly I don’t think there’s ever been a better 7inch or will there ever be again…yeah it’s that good.  Anyway, look for those sometime in June.  I’ll be keeping you posted.

P.S. – You’ve heard the term “thunder drums”, right?  WRONG! You ain’t heard shit yet – you’ll see. (or hear I guess – you can’t really “see” music.  Well I guess you can if you’re looking at some sort of fancy-pants music software recording thingy, but yeah – stop being at smart-ass)

KHR + Cold Fur = Awesome

Cold Fur

2012 Announcements keep on rolling in:

Killing Horse Records is please to announce the addition of the mighty COLD FUR to the lineup!  Members Dave Leto and Ralph Cuseglio from Rye Coalition and Adam Valk and Jeff Mackey from The Want  play Loud, Sweaty, Fast and In Your Face – and there is nothing you can fucking do about it. These guys know how rock is done and execute it with angry perfection.  We couldn’t be more excited to have them on board.

Look for the 7″ coming in April!

Here’s some press the Killing Horse family has been receiving as of late:

Most recently, Dave G. over at United By Rocket Science did a review of ¡No Pasaran!’s Porter In The Making, which can be found right here, and don’t sleep on his review of Cicada Radio’s new EP, Imposter or the Maxwell’s show where both bands shared the stage with the like of Cold Fur (ex-Rye Coalition, ex-The Want) and The (Mighty) Nolan Gate!

And for those (read: majority) of you who are outside the reach or awareness of St. Peter’s internet based radio station WSPC, and their fantastic program Indie Rebellion, We just wrapped up two weeks of KILLING HORSE DOMINATION, featuring on-air interviews and performances from everyone in the Killing Horse Family (except Cicada Radio – but only because they weren’t on the roster yet, :( awww, though there is a review of Imposter here). Anyway, here’s links to those interviews for: ¡No Pasaran!, Invisible Lines, Secret Country and Ben Franklin
